| Christine
Brand's paintings focus
on taking small aspects of nature and capturing the beauty that
was perhaps overlooked or unseen at first glance.Through her hyper-realist
painting style, the work magnifies the subject matter as the paintings
transcend realism approaching the point of becoming lyrical abstraction.
Intriguing colors and shapes found in nature inspire Christine's
painting process of blending the pigment on the canvas to create
richness and depth. Her inspiration is as much about the process
of painting as it is about her profound connection with nature. |

| The CSUCI Art Program thanks Mark and Kathy Hartley for their generous donation of the Ventura gallery space to the University. This high-profile exhibition venue is an amazing opportunity for CSUCI students and alumni to showcase their talents. Art sales from the first month have been quite healthy and the Ventura community has really stepped up to help support this exciting new cultural venture in the downtown area. CSUCI
